DAILY PROGRAM
On the ship you are directly subordinated to the Hotel Manager, to the Cruise Director and to the Captain. The other crew members are all your colleagues and you work all as a team. Your program usually starts at 8:30 and ends at 11:00 pm, depending on how long tourists remain in the Bar and on the daily schedule. You will always perform during teatime (the exact time varies according to the daily schedule). Also, you will always perform on the sundeck in case a special entertainment program is organized – depending on the daily schedule. After one hour of singing, you may take a break of around 5 minutes.
TYPE OF MUSIC PLAYED
Many of the tourists on the Amadeus ships are Germans and Austrians, therefore, a very important aspect is to include in your repertoire German songs and “Schlagermusic”, as well as Oldies from the German and international music. Being able to perform songs in German is vital in order to make the German-speaking public satisfied with your performance. Only songs in English and Spanish is not enough. Please keep in mind that guests want to dance, so play dancing music of various styles (Foxtrot, Disco Fox, Tango, Cha-Cha, Rumba, Salsa, Waltz, etc.). Do not sing with a sad voice and maintain a happy attitude. Do not forget: from the moment you entered the public area, you have to smile all the time.
EXTRA DUTIES
Working in a team is very important on the Amadeus ships. If you are a woman, only take small and not heavy boxes. The refusal to participate in loading, luggage and in the bar will have as a consequence that the crew member will not receive any of the shared tips.
