A-ROSA SENA

This new innovative boat is ideal for people who love to sail and also want to help reduce the impact on the environment. The E-motion ship can come to port without emissions thanks to its battery drive. Fuel consumption goes down, which helps keep cities on the road clean.

Jörg Eichler, CEO of A-ROSA River Cruises, said: “A-ROSA SENA will be a leader in sustainable river cruising and make river cruising accessible to the next generation.” A-ROSA SENA sets completely new standards and surpasses any river cruise ship you've ever seen.

A-ROSA SENA receives the renowned "German Prize for Sustainability Projects 2022". A-ROSA won first place for an innovative new building in the "Service - Mobility" category. The E-Motion Ship, with a hybrid propulsion system consisting of a diesel engine and an electric motor, is a symbol of the redevelopment from 2023, in which A-ROSA pays great attention to the sustainability of the company. Other aspects of the climate-friendly energy management of the A-ROSA SENA are a generator that produces electricity from waste heat, an optimized hull and a battery system that enables so-called peak shaving - i.e. equalization of peak loads. With the help of energy stored in battery storage, A-ROSA SENA can also start cities purely electrically, which prevents local emissions. The new ship will serve as a model for the rest of the fleet and help the company reduce emissions in the future. E-Motion Ship is therefore an important milestone on A-ROSA's path to becoming the most sustainable travel provider on European rivers in the long term.
